Image of Merciful Jesus, more information

The Merciful Jesus is a reproduction of the painting that Jesus asked Sister Maria Faustina to paint when he appeared to her on February 22, 1931 in Plock (Poland).

As Sister Faustina tells us, Jesus Christ appeared to her dressed in white with two rays coming out of his chest, with one hand raised in a blessing gesture and with the other hand he touched his dress. Jesus told Sister Faustina:

"Paint a picture as you're looking at me, with the invocation: 'Jesus, I trust in you'. I want it to be venerated throughout the world." "The two rays signify the Blood and the Water. The pale ray symbolizes the Water that justifies souls. The red ray symbolizes the Blood that is the life of souls... Both rays sprouted from the deepest bowels of My mercy when My dying Heart was opened on the Cross by the lance. These rays protect souls from My Father's indignation. Blessed is he who lives in their shadow, because the just hand of God will not reach him."

Jesus also told him:

"I promise that the soul that venerates this image will not perish. I already here on earth promise victory over enemies: especially at the hour of death. I myself will defend it as my Glory. I offer men a container with the who have to come to the fountain of Mercy to collect graces. That container is this image with the signature: Jesus, I trust in you".

Finally, the Lord asked Sister Faustina to write the following ejaculatory prayer and to pray it frequently:

"Oh Blood and Water that flowed from the Sacred Heart of Jesus as a Source of Mercy for us, I trust in You".
