The box for Sacred Hosts is decorated with the figure of God’s Lamb.
God’s Lamb, or simply the Lamb, is one of the classic representations of Christ. It could be said that perhaps it is one of the most well-known at a popular level.
In the pyx, the Lamb is lying down, in a completely relaxed position.
Above the Lamb's head can be seen the golden halo or aureole, a symbol of Christ's holiness.
On the back is represented a flag holder in the shape of a Cross. Also, the Resurrection labarum, or victory flag, a symbol of Christ’s Resurrection.
Generally, the Resurrection labarum tends to be triangular, like a pennant, or rectangular, like a flag. It usually features a red cross on a white background.
