What is a monastery bell?
Monastery bells are percussion musical instruments found in monasteries and churches, either outside or inside the buildings. Originally, they were used to mark monastic life.
They are currently also used in parishes to announce important events such as the start of Mass.
These bells are usually decorated with the Latin expression "vocem meam-a ovime tangit," which means "Who touches me hears my voice" or "My voice touches (consoles) my sheep," symbolizing the call and guidance towards the Church and the Word of God.
