Saint Veronica and the Shroud

Saint Veronica lived in Jerusalem and was an especially pious person. Saint Veronica had a big heart and that is why she took pity on Jesus when he suffered carrying the Cross during his Way of the Cross on the way to Mount Calvary where he would be crucified. Saint Veronica, moved by compassion, wiped away the blood and sweat that covered the face of Christ during his Via Crucis.
