Virgin of Mount Carmel Simpecado Banner

The sinless one is a Marian banner used in many religious festivities, especially in processions of brotherhoods and confraternities.

The name Simpecados comes from the Latin motto Sine Labe Concepta, which means Conceived Without Sin. This expression refers to the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary, a dogma defended and promoted throughout the centuries by the Catholic Church. The Virgin Mary was conceived without original sin.

Since the Middle Ages, this symbol has been part of religious processions, representing purity and God's special choice for the Virgin Mary. The Simpecados of the Virgin of Mount Carmel were used in liturgical celebrations and processions related to the Virgin of Mount Carmel.

The miniatures of Simpecados banners are an evolution of the original processional banners. It is an adaptation designed for those who wish to have a Marian symbol in their home, parish, workplace, etc.
