Marian stole embroidered with the Immaculate Virgin
The image of the Immaculate Virgin that is embroidered on the stole is a reproduction of a work by the well-known Spanish painter Bartolomé Esteban Murillo. The painting is known as "La Inmaculada del Escorial" . This work of art is an oil on canvas painted between 1660 and 1665. The Immaculate Virgin is represented following the patterns established in the Sevillian baroque school. Being one of the most distinctive features of this pictorial current the representation of the Virgin Mary with childlike features.
