The Virgin with Child (Madonnina) by Ferruzi

The Italian artist Roberto Ferruzi was born in 1853 and died in 1934. He was an artist who achieved his greatest recognition thanks to the painting Virgin with Child, known in Italy as the Madonnina.

Roberto Ferruzi won the second Venice Biennale in 1897. The theme of that Biennale was motherhood. The sweetness of the Virgin Mary holding the Child in Ferruzi's work was the key to obtaining the award.
