Using the Home Censer | Incense Lighting

Home censers are an essential tool for enjoying the aroma of incense in our homes or elsewhere.

Using a censer facilitates the incense burning process, improving the lighting experience and guaranteeing the enjoyment of the aroma with full guarantees.

The process of lighting and burning charcoal is elementary, but it is important to consider a series of steps to ensure the process is carried out successfully.

  • Essential Elements for Charcoal and Incense Lighting

Firstly, the materials we should use in our home. It is advisable to have:

  1. Charcoal tablets, self-igniting if possible.
  2. Incense in grain or powder form.
  3. A home censer with a diameter suitable for the charcoal tablets used.
  4. A lighter, match, or similar to light the tablets.
  5. Charcoal tongs for handling the charcoal tablets.
  6. A small spoon to measure the right amount of incense.
  • Lighting Incense at Home

Once we have all the necessary elements to light the incense with maximum guarantees, it's time to start the incense lighting process.

First, we must check the home censer to ensure there are no remnants of charcoal, incense, or any other material that could hinder the lighting or pose any risk. The censer should be clean.

After the preliminary check, place the censer on a flat, heat-resistant, and stable surface.

pick up a charcoal tablet using the tongs. Light the tablet using the lighter or match.

The charcoal will start to spark as you bring the tablet close to the flame. Keep the tablet in the flame until a good part of the tablet's surface is lit. Place the lit tablet in the appropriate area of the censer.

Once this is done, we need to take the incense we want to burn. Deposit the amount of incense we consider appropriate in the censer's container.

If it is the first time using the censer, or a new type of incense is being tried, it is advisable to add it gradually to see the smoke and smell the incense can produce.

It is advisable to add the incense several times rather than overloading the censer, which can produce undesired results (extinguishing the charcoal, too much smoke, overly intense smell, etc.).

Let the charcoal tablet and incense burn out completely before cleaning the censer.

  • It is advisable to take a series of generic precautions throughout the process:
  • Do not leave the lit censer unattended.
  • Keep the household censer out of reach of children and pets.
  • Ensure the area around the censer is free from flammable materials.
  • Do not move or touch the censer once it is lit.
