Stole, embroidery and other information
Stole with JHS and Cross embroidered . Ornament made of 100% polyester for sale in the four liturgical colors: red stole, green stole, purple stole and white stole.
The stole features embroidered JHS in gold. The JHS symbol is a modern adaptation of the Latin IHS . The origin of IHS is found in the name of Jesus in the Greek letters written in capital letters: IHCOUC . The expression is made up of the Greek letter iota (I: the same as the Latin "i"), eta (which is written in capital letters like H: it is transcribed and pronounced "e") and C which, due to its resemblance, becomes sigma (ς) (currently it would be the "s").
The composition is completed by a Cross embroidered in silver thread. The Cross is embroidered at the top of the set between the two legs of the H.
